Contemporary Paintings of Identity, Memory & Legacy
Revi Ferrer creates large scale contemporary paintings exploring the objects people use to mark achievement, memory, identity, and legacy.
Working in layered matte and metallic acrylics, Ferrer's paintings transform iconic objects into personal narratives collected by individuals, families, and design professionals across the United States.
I create paintings about people, using the objects they love as the language.
A bottle of wine can represent a marriage. A watch can represent decades of work. A car can symbolize ambition, freedom, or a lifelong dream.
While my paintings often feature recognizable objects, the work is never truly about the object itself. It is about the memories, milestones, and personal stories attached to it.
Through large scale compositions built from thousands of abstract marks, I explore the relationship between identity and the things we choose to keep, collect, celebrate, and pass on.
Each painting is intended to become part of someone's story.
Born in Riga, Latvia and now based in Nashville, Tennessee, Ferrer's work is informed by a multidisciplinary background spanning architecture, fashion design, and fine art.
